Bryson Michael Barron Arrives A Little Early

Bryson Michael Barron was born last Saturday, September 6, 2008 @ 8:25 AM. He weighed 4 lbs 12 oz and was 15 1/2 inches long. My Dr. wanted to take him early because we had been do ultra sounds the last month to check his growth and in 3 weeks he had grown roughly the amount that he should have grown in 3 days. So, the Dr. said that my placenta and the umbilical cord were giving out, he wanted to take him a month early to get him out and get nourishment to him on the outside world. That was Friday the 5th. He said that my C-section was scheduled for 8:00 the next morning and that I should be at the hospital at 6:00.......yeah, that was NO time to prepare. I have NEVER had a surgery in my life!!! It was a scary thing to hear that I was going to have my baby the next day, we had thought we had a month to get the rest of our things in order before he came, but I guess the Lord wanted him here now. He has been in NICU since he was born and hopefully can come home within the next week or so. When he was first born, he had a thing on his nose called a "B-pap" (I think) to keep a small amount of pressure on his little lungs to keep them inflated so they wouldn't collapse. He had that on until about 8:00 PM on the day he was born. So all he had hooked to him was the IV and the leads to the monitors, however, he was still in the incubator. They put the feeding tube in his nose on Monday and removed the IV, because he was still so small that he wasn't getting all of his feedings through the nipple. He was then moved out of the incubator into an open crib on Thursday afternoon. That was one of his goals to meet in order to come home (to keep his own temperature up without needing the assistance of the incubator). He since has been moved up from one room in the NICU to another room (he graduated last night, Friday, Sept. 12 to the "Penthouse" of the NICU). This is where the nurses say that the babies that are almost ready to go home go. The last goal he needs to meet is to eat all of his feedings through the nipple not the feeding tube......he has made big strides the last couple days, but still gets tired and every once in a while he needs to be fed through the tube. The other thing is he can't have another "apnea" (Sunday he stopped breathing for about 20 seconds). So far so good, he hasn't had another one, but every time he has an apnea, another 7 days automatically gets added to his stay in the NICU. So, please pray for our little man in hopes that he gets well enough to come home with us soon and stay home without getting sick and needing to go back to the NICU. Here are a few pics and more is to come.

Best Concert of the year....Duh!!

Well, it was that time of year again. June 27th was the day.......yes, you guessed it, Tim McGraw came and sang to me!! He has sung to me for the past 3 years, and I LIKE IT, I LOVE IT, I WANT SOME MORE OF IT!!! Alright, Alright.....he wasn't only singing to me, but I can have my personal fantasy, right!!
This year it was at the USANA Ampitheater instead of the Energy Solutions Center. The sound was so much better at the USANA! I have to admit, when we got to the concert, our seats were on the grass, and we were pretty far back, and to make things worse.....they didn't have the big screens up, for the people in the far back to see the stage. So, I was bummed from the beginning. Half Way to Hazard opened......yeah....they weren't that great (but that is just my opinion). Then Jason Aldean had his few songs, and he was better than the other band, but still, I couldn't see anything, so I wasn't really impressed. The more he sang the more discouraged I was getting, was this really how the whole concert was going to be?? I couldn't even see with the zoom on my camera maxed out. But, when they were setting up for Tim's concert, the big screens came out. Man, was I relieved!! My night was getting better.
Of course Tim did a really good job. He is my favorite, so even if he sucked, I still would have thought that he was wonderful. He was so darn hot.....(yes, Dustin knows about my infatuation with Tim McGraw, and he knows nothing will happen, so he's alright with it....he just laughs at me.) The concert was fantastic, Tim had a 30 minute encore......yeah, he is amazing! And now it is over.....hopefully he will come again next year....you bet your bottom dollar that I will be there!!

My sister-Alecia, me and Alecia's best friend-Alli. We had a blast at the concert!! Alli is a hoot....when we left the concert.....she stuck her body out the window and put her arm out and told the other cars to "STOP", surprisingly enough....they listened. We got out of there pretty quickly with the help of Alli.....thanks chica, you rock!
Here is the screen that was on the stage.....it at least made it to where I could see without using my camera zoom!! He is hot....look at those arms!! He must work out!
Ah, look....he is waiting for me to come and get my long awaited hug!! I am coming Tim....it will take me a minute to waddle up there, but I will be there!!!!

Brogan's First "Real" Camping Trip

While I was at the concert in Utah last weekend, Dustin went camping with his family. I was a little apprehensive because he was taking Brogan, and although we took him last year to Island Park, he was just a puppy and was on the leash the whole time. This weekend, he was going to have free reign of the forest. AHH....I don't know if I was really ready for him to take this step, he is still my little puppy for heaven's sake. They came back on Sunday and Dustin filled me in about the weekend. Brogan was on cloud nine. He didn't really stop exploring and running until Saturday. Friday was filled with smelling and checking out his new surroundings with my in-laws dogs...Dakota and Harley. They even went four-wheeling and Brogan rode on the back when he was exhausted from running. He was pretty comfortable up there, comfortable enough to stand up on his hind legs and put his front legs on the shoulders of Dustin or Nick (whoever was driving at the time) and look around at all of the things around him. What a dork!!! Doesn't he know that you are supposed to stay seated when you are on a moving vehicle?? Obviously not. But he actually laid down to rest at the campsite on Saturday afternoon.....he was tuckered out. Then they got home on Sunday and he crashed.......he didn't even seem to excited to see me, it kind of hurt my feelings, but he soon made it up to me. I think it was a mix of him being mad at me, cause I had left for 3 days and he was "dog tired". Here are some pics of their trip.

Come on Nitz ... Let's go PLAY!!!

My Little Soccer Player!

Well, last night was the first night that Dustin felt our baby moving. I was going to bed and man was my little guy active. He was OUT OF CONTROL!! Not that I didn't like it, cause I always love to feel him move and stuff, but not until 1:00 AM!!! Anyway, he usually moves a bit when I first go to bed, but last night, he was playing a soccer game or something, so I called Dustin in to check it out. We first just stared at my belly to see if we could actually see it. Then Dust decided to just "feel" it instead. He was pretty surprised when he felt it......it was cute, every time he felt him kick, Dust would look at me for confirmation that what he felt was the real deal and not just his mind playing tricks on him. Our little guy must be following in his dads footsteps already cause it felt like he was practicing his soccer kicks. I want to name him Beckham just for that reason....what do ya'll think about that name?? We shall see in about 3 months what he looks like and that will determine what we name him.......but I am up to hearing any boy names, if you wanna share!!

Trip to the Vet and Recovery

Sure, he looks innocent now. But last night, he decided to chew apart one whole end of a toy that Uncle Nits (Nick) brought him on Sunday. It was one that squeaked whenever he chewed on it. But this was a "stereo" squeaker, the sound was magnified......yeah, really annoying. Is this something I get to look forward to Nick when my kids are old enough to play with noise makers. WONDERFUL! Can't wait. Anyways, Brogan chewed and chewed on this toy until the squeaker part was broken.....(Thank Heavens, cause I was getting a headache!) But he wasn't content, he wanted to find the little thing that was making the noise, I guess. So, long story short, Dustin looked down last night and saw a big chunk gone from one end, without any remains on the ground. Yep, Brogan chewed and swallowed part of his toy....little monster! During the night, he was up 4 times, going outside. I assumed to go potty. When I got up this morning, I was a little nervous, because there was no way he was going to be able to digest the hard plastic of the toy. So, I called the vet and just asked if I should be concerned. Sure enough, they told me to bring him in, because they were worried about a blockage in his intestines......it was deja vu (Moxx....enough said). I took him in and the vet looked at the toy and said that he wasn't going to do any x-rays yet, until he starts with the symptoms of a blockage. So I was sent home with him, but was told to watch him for the next few days. As long as he eats and acts normal....he should be alright. While I was there, I had the vet do a few other things for him.....I like our vet, he is the BEST!!

Here is the toy that made my night and morning kinda stressful. Geez, we can't buy him anything nice.....cause he ruins it within a few days!! Good thing Wal Mart has some toys that only cost 88 cents!!! Uncle Nits bought this at Petco, so you know how expensive this little thing must have cost him, more than $1 that's for sure!! Sorry Uncle Nits!!!

After dinner and a boxing match, Dad and Brogan were wore out! If you ask Dustin, he won, but if you ask Brogan, he won.....in my eyes, they both won! They are so funny to watch. Brogan tries to be big and tough......actually, he is quite the bully. He will jump on Dustin and almost push him to the ground. That is Brogan's way of saying "It is time to play Dad!" Aren't my boys just so cute, surprising that they both fit on the sofa together! Gotta Love them!!!!

Brogan's First Obedience Class!

Last night was Brogan's first obedience class of the summer. He is one of 18 dogs in the class. Most of them are mid-sized dogs, with the exception of a 3 year old Great Dane, a Min Pin, and a weiner dog. They were so funny to watch. The Dane went after a 6 month old Boxer puppy so he was moved to the other end of the line....we had a few tiffs between some dogs, but Brogan never growled or barked at another dog once.....I was a proud mommy. Dustin worked with him last night, they practiced "heeling" and sitting. Making right turns and left turns without tripping over the dogs....that was funny to watch. Two people fell over their dogs all the way to the ground. Brogan did rather well, until the end. Dustin was getting so frustrated, but kept his calm until it was over. Towards the end Brogan just wanted to play and was trying to get to the other dogs. But really, how many times can a dog walk a straight line and back before he/she gets bored out of their minds?? We have class every Wednesday night for 8 weeks. HOPEFULLY the class will do us some good! I wish that I had a picture of him in the class, but we sold our camera to Nick, (Dustin's brother) because we are getting a new one. But I will definitely be taking some when we get the camera and posting them on our blog!!!

We FINALLY made the leap!

Well, we had to jump on the blog band wagon. It seems like all of our friends are doing it, so we might has well make the blogspot leap. It won't be very exciting for at least 4 months, until our baby boy is born, so for now you will get to hear about me, dustin, and our 1 year old boxer, Brogan.....who definately keeps us on our toes! It is never a dull moment with him around. I am very new at this whole blogging thing, so bare with me and I promise, I will get better at it!!
